Challenge

HP needed to establish a credible corporate venture program that could attract high-potential AI startups, provide meaningful support beyond capital, and create commercial value through co-selling and integrated solutions. The challenge was to design a program that balanced HP’s strategic priorities—AI for edge devices, operational efficiency, next-generation decision-making, and printing innovation—with genuine startup value creation. This required building a complete operating model spanning startup sourcing, selection, support infrastructure, commercialisation pathways, and ecosystem partnerships across the Greater Asia region.

Approach

Enfactum designed and operationalised HP Garage 2.0 as an integrated AI ecosystem platform:

  • Defined program vision, thesis, and operating model – Established HP Garage 2.0 as an AI-focused incubator centred on go-to-market partnerships, co-selling opportunities, and integrated solutions development rather than traditional equity investment, with clear innovation priorities aligned to HP business units
  • Designed a comprehensive founder journey and support framework – Created an end-to-end startup pathway from sourcing and selection through MVP sandboxing, solution validation with HP business teams, co-selling activation, and commercialisation via HP AI Alliance Store, reaching 21 countries and 8,000+ enterprise customers
  • Built program governance and execution infrastructure – Established a dedicated HP Garage team for operations, identified innovation champions from business units, formed a senior leadership selection committee, and structured a mentorship program connecting startups with industry experts
  • Developed ecosystem partnerships and market access – Created a partnership framework spanning government agencies, corporate access networks, talent recruitment support, infrastructure facilities, funding partners, programming providers, and go-to-market enablement across Southeast Asia’s startup ecosystem

The program delivered five key value pillars for startups: mentorship from HP leaders, collaborative workspace within HP facilities, co-creation opportunities with HP teams, go-to-market support leveraging HP’s channel network of 48,000+ partners, and funding opportunities tailored to startup needs.
